Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM22675

We are Using LM22675QMRE-5.0/NOPB part for the DC-DC conversion from 12/24Vto 5V but Input Max Limit is 40V.

what query we have is this is going to be in Automotive application and they are expecting up to 50V Surge during the initial time so can we use this part..?

are do we have to choose the different part for the design..?

Moving to Simple Switcher forum. But in any case absolute maximum Vin is 43 V, so i cannot recommend it for any 50 V application.

You wouldn't be able to use a 40V device for a max input of 50V. But you could potentially add a surge protector to the input of the LM22675 inorder to limit the input voltage below the allowable max.
