Response of buck converter on capacitive load

Hi,

Could you please explain how the response of a buck converter to capacitive load looks like.

If possible please add some graphs

Regards

Hari

  • Hari,

I'm not sure what you are asking. A buck converter will normally have capacitance at it's output. A purely capacitive load will be seen in parallel with that capacitance. It will affect the loop response of the converter and may cause instability. You will need to analyze the loop and adjust the compensation accordingly.
