power module with adjustable current limit

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS2552D, TPS2553D

I am using TPS2552D instead of TPS2553D, at development stage i used TPS2553D. The only difference between these two is of Enable input level. In TPS2553D we are using 10k pull up at Enable input and controlling through MCU. Now for TPS2552D same configuration will work or we need to use pull down resistor.

Please suggest.

  • Hi, Kuldeep,

TPS2553D is logic high turns on power switch and TPS2552D is logic low turns on power switch. You can keep same configuration, but in this case, the default condition of TPS2552D will be disabled(because MCU IO default condition is High-Z condition, correct?), unless you give a logic low from MCU to Enable the part.

If you don't want TPS2552D default condition to be disable, you can use pull down resistor and use MCU to control it.

    Regards,
    Bob
  • Thanks for your suggestion on this. It is clear now for me to decide right set of components.
