Inquiry regarding hysteresis on VIT pin of TPS3808G33

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS3808

Hello, all

Now we have one inquiry regarding hysteresis on VIT pin of TPS3808G33 from our customer. Please refer to the item below and feedback us with your comment.

When referring page 3 of TPS3808 datasheet, hysteresis on VIT pin (VHYS) is defined as 1.0 (Typ) and 2.0 (Max).

Please let us clarify whether this definition includes input threshold accuracy (VIT), which is defined as -1.5% (Min) and +1.5% (Max), or not.

We would like to have actual characteristic based on Figure 6, into Transient Duration vs Actual voltage level.

If it doesn't include VIT tolerance, the actual voltage level for example Overdrive=5%VIT and Transient Duration=9.5us would be calculated as below;

Actual voltage level = VIT(Typ) - VIT(Max) * Overdrive(%VIT)

=3.07(V) - 3.116(V) * 5(%VIT) = 3.07(V) - 0.16(V) = 2.91(V)

We thank you in advance for your information.

Best regards,

  • Hi Atsushi,

    The VIT pin hysteresis is 1.0 (Typ) and 2.5 (Max) over the entire temperature range.  The 2.0 (Max) spec is for –40°C < TJ < +85°C.  This line is %of VIT nominal and does not include the threshold accuracy.

    Very Respectfully,

    Ryan
