TPS3820-33 WDI-pin RESET-pin

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS3820

Hi members

This is BEN.
My customer  consider  the TPS3820-33.
Please supporting

Q1:   In the case of WDI-pin is open,  the voltage of  WDI-pin happens to?
(Internal circuit of WDI-pin What are the?)

Q2:   I understand that push-pull is RESET-pin.
Do you have an internal resistance of each Hi-side/Low-side?
In some cases,  Error range and resistance value how much?

Q3:  In the case of  RESET is to output Hi,
It has no problem even if  the Low from the IC another external?

Best  regard
BEN.

  • Hi Ben,

I will check with the designer for the resistance of the FETs.  I am not sure I understand what you mean for either question 1 or 3.  Could you please try and rephrase?

    Very Respectfully,

    Ryan

  • Hi Ryan

Thank you for reply.  sorry  the previous question one of me to obscure.
    I will ask again.

Q1:  Please look at the TPS382x's datasheet p3: FUNCTION BLOCK DIAGRAM.
What unknown structure of  "Watchdog Timer Logic"?
For examle are you   pull-up   or   pull-down?

    Q3:  Solved.

    Best regard.
    BEN.

  • Hi BEN,

Q1:  This depends on if the device is active high or active low for the RESET.  If the device is active low as in the case of TPS3820, then the watchdog will pull-down the /RESET line upon timeout.  If the device is active high, the watchdog will pull up the RESET line upon timeout.

Q2: The FET resistance can be calculated by using Ohm's Law.  To calculate the resistance of the high side FET, divide Voh by Ioh.  To calculate the resistance of the low side FET divide Vol by Iol.  These values are given in the Electrical Characteristic table.  We also give an indication of how these values drift over temperature in Figures 5, 6 and 7.

Q3: Glad to hear you solved it!

    Very Respectfully,

    Ryan

  • Hi Ryan.

    Thank you for reply.
    I was helped to you.

I responded to my customers to say that i had.

    Very  Respectfully
    BEN.
