TLV803RDBZR v TLV803BDBZT pin out

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TLV803

The data sheet (SBVS157B –APRIL 2011–REVISED AUGUST 2011) for TLV803 the text says there are alternative SOT23-3 package.  On Page 1 the SOT23-3 pin out drawings suggest that TVL803 only has one cobination of pin out as the other SOT23-3 is labeled TLV863.

Page 2. Gives a table that includes "PACKAGE MARKING"  but only shows VOTQ  .

I have both TLV803RDBZR  and TLV803BDBZT and both have VOTQ but some characters have underscores.

How can I tell the different between these tow package markings and the pin outs (if there is any difference) ?

This data sheet is the most confusing. !

  • Correction.  to part numbers.

    Parts are TLV803RDBZT and TLV803RDBZR

Both have same package markings with VOSQ but different underscores to the marking characters.

TLV803RDBZT what is the SOT23-3 pin out

TLV803RDBZR what is the SOT23-3 pin out

  • Hi,

TLV803 only comes in the one pinout.  TLV863 is functionally equivalent to TLV803 but it comes in an alternative pinout.

The underscores are associated with the datecode for the device.

    Very Respectfully,

    Ryan

  • Thanks for clarifying that. However the TLV863 is listed as only available with THRESHOLD VOLTAGE 4.38V (Data sheet page 2)

Why TI mixed these two items is a mystery to me.

To me "functionally equivalent" (as stated in the data sheet) means I should be able to order TLV863 with a THRESHOLD VOLTAGE of 2.64 ! But only one is listed in the data sheet.

Anyway I decided I could not trust this data sheet and therefore not the part either, it's already caused me enough trouble, and expense. !

Now I'll have to scrap the PCB and make another one, I don't like cut and jumpers.
