TPS38600 Watchdog Disable Possible?

Hi,

Im using a TPS38600 in one of my designs. In need 4 sense inputs however. The problem is the output of SENSE1 -->RESET1 is a function of the watchdog timer. I m not using the watch dog so these pins (WDI, WDO) will not be connected. I however dont want RESET1 to be influenced by the Watchdog. Is it possible to get RESET1 to behave like RESET2?

Is this possible?

Hi Bruce,

The watchdog circuitry does not have an affect on RESET1 unless you wire OR it to WDO. As you intend to leave WDO unconnected, in your application RESET1 and RESET2 will behave the same.

If you were using watchdog, you would need to pulse RESET1 in order to reset the internal timer for the watchdog.

Hi Ryan,

Thanks for the info. Im connecting it up as shown below. Ive left the Watchdog elements at No Connect and connected MR to VCC. Do I need a resistor between MR and VCC?
