Question regarding the TPS3610U18 battery-backup supervisor for RAM retention

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS782, TPS709

Hi,

-          My design requires the use of battery-backed SRAM. I am planning on using a 1.8V asynchronous SRAM device.

-          I am considering using the TPS3610U18 battery-backup supervisor for RAM retention.

-          On our design’s that require battery-backed SRAM in a 3.3V signaling environment, we use 3V coin Lithium batteries. These are not available in 1.8V.

Question: Using a 3V coin lithium battery and diodes in series (to drop the 3V down to approx. 1.8V), can I still use the TPS3610U18 supervisor? Would the diodes interfere with the TPS3610U18‘s internal circuit?

Thanks.
