I wanted to use the TPS3702 for the overvoltage detect mode only for a 3.3V supply. is there anything I need to do to the UV pins if unused.

Does TI offer a similar product that can drive an external series switch as well?

Hi Mike,

I would just leave the UV pin floating for your application. And when you say an external series switch, do you mean you are looking for an over-voltage detector that has a push-pull output so you can disconnect your load in the case of an over-voltage situation?

Hi David,

I want to drive a 3.3V bus which can draw about 3-5Amps normally and want to disconnect the 3.3V bus when an overvoltage is detected.

Most of the internal switches I see can't handle the current and have too big a drop with this load.

appreciate any recommendations.

Hi Mike,

You could likely use one of our load switches or hot swaps for this operation. There are a lot of other options as well in those areas and you could check on their forum for recommendations - I know we have a variety of wide-vin, low Rdson power switches in both of those areas, and you can use the TPS3702 to drive the EN pin of one of their switches.
