TPS3700 question.

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS3700

HELLO.

I have a question about TPS3700.

Condition
Vdd=0V(Not Power)
Ina+,Ina-=5V (add Voltege)

Would IC receive damage at the same time?

Thank you.

  • Hi Ishii-san,

If 5V is applied to either INA or INB, and VCC is connected to GND or if it has a lot of capacitance, then yes the IC can be damaged.Inside our ESD diodes would conduct current from INA to VCC and if there is no resistance, then the current may damage the ESD structures.

    So now my questions:

    1. Why would 5V be added to INA or INB as these are 400mV thresholds?

    2. Do you have resistors in the above scenario or or you looking at a worst case condition?

    Regards,

  • Hello.

    John Cummings-san

Thank you very much for your answer.

    I understood.

    An answer to your question.

1)It's adjusted to a threshold of 400mV threshold including resistance of R1,R2,R3.

2)I assume the case when you're worst so that you may say.

    question.

When how long is an electric current called off by this case, is it broken?

    Thank you.
