Hello,

Everything is in the title,
I tippically want to use this kind of application ( TPS3306 )  :

Let WDI floating is enabling the watchdog, which is pretty insteresting for me (page 2 : "Leaving WDI unconnected disables the watchdog")
But this seems to be a rare feature (contrary to what the manual says) .

Its design is simple and easy but I'd like to know if this kind of component exists with adjustable timeout (max and min)?

    Hi Olivier,

    It looks like you are using our Application Report on disabling the Watchdog Timer for TI's Family of Supervisors for your inspiration (www.ti.com/.../slva145.pdf). To clarify, for the devices listed in Table 1 of the Application Report, floating WDI will disable the watchdog functionality.

    For your application, are you looking to adjust the watchdog time or the /RESET delay time?

    Regarding to my development, I am trully at the beginning: I don't even have a prototype yet.

    That's why I prefer to have an adjustable WD time and /RST time...

    Hey Ryan,

    Thank you for this information,
    unfortunately I can't wait for this device, so I'll keep the TPS3306-xx.
    This sentence "The device, TPS3850, should release this fall." sounds to me: "The TPS3850 should probably release later this fall and the first version will include bugs" ;)

    Please, understand this is NOT a negative criticism; I just know how the research & dev. products works...

    By the way, persons who see this post and got the same need should try this component as soon as it release..
    I'll probably take a look on it if my first design changes (and there is many chance it will be).
