LM8365 value of RD and IC operation.

Hello,

I am trying to use this chip to provide a different delay depending on the capacitor value I supply to CD. I need to know the value of RD so I can calculate the delay to what I need.

My other question is if Vin is 0V instantly at startup will it operate properly? I want to hold the RESET output at 0 until I get a low to high signal on the VIN and then start one of my calculated delays. Please let me know if this could work and what the value of RD is. Thank you,

-Jake

  • Jake,

My apologies for the late response! The datasheet recommends R value of approx. 470k ohm. This is referring to the pull-up resistor on the RESET pin. There is no required resistor on the delay pin. This value provides good pull up strength and limits power dissipation. I am not sure I understand your second question. If Vin is ever 0V, the device is off meaning the RESET voltage is low. If Vin is ever above the threshold, the RESET pin voltage is pulled high and will go low again if Vin drops below the voltage threshold.

Please let me know if I answered your question.

  • That is not the answer I was looking for. I already found a replacement part for what I need so I no longer need this part or question answered. Thanks
