Hi,

I have a question if there is any difference between connecting the ~MR to the supply voltage or just leaving it open as it has an internal weak pull-up? I don’t think so, but wanted to check for confirmation.

Currently I am connecting ~MR pin to the supply voltage to increase the circuit’s immunity (image below).

Ross,

/MR pin can be left unconnected because of the strong internal 90k pull-up. You can also connect it to VDD or any other voltage between the recommended 0.7*VDD and VDD to be considered "high" to prevent any reset. With your configuration above, the /MR feature is essentially disabled and can't be used and the device won't ever reset due to Manual Reset.
