TPS3808: TPS3808 Decoupling

Part Number: TPS3808

Do the TPS3808 monitor IC's need decoupling caps on the Vdd and/or sense pin? In section 9.2.2 of the datasheet it mentions "A 0.1-µF decoupling capacitor is connected to the VDD pin...", but there aren't any decoupling caps shown in the application examples. Any recommendations?

The decoupling capacitors are not required however they can smooth out the voltage rail slightly making measurements more accurate if the signal is noisy. When in doubt, add the space for the capacitor in your layout and then you can try without the capacitor and add it in if needed later. I recommend using them in nearly all circumstances.
