TPS386000: Programmable delay question

Part Number: TPS386000

Hi,

I have a question regarding the TPS386000. This device has a programmable delay and it is not totally clear from the datasheet if the delay just delays when the reset output becomes active or if the input voltage has to be below the threshold for the delay period in order for the reset output to be activated. Please let me know what you think and if you have any questions.

Thank you,

Julien

  • Julien,

The way the reset delay works is when the device power comes up and is GOOD, the RESET comes up after the reset delay. When the power or sense voltage drops, the RESET output triggers active ("low") very quickly (with only the propagation delay) then when the power returns back to GOOD, the RESET will go back "high" after the reset delay.

    Does this make sense?
