UCD90120A Health Monitor JTAG Programming

We have recently received information (both through our own testing and from the manufacturer) that the UCD90120A System Health Monitor is not recommended to be programmed via JTAG. This is a direct contradiction to what the datasheet states.

Question: Can you please confirm that p/n UCD90120A should not be programmed via JTAG?

Is the data sheet going to be updated if programming via JTAG is an issue for this part?

    JTAG was not envisioned as the primary method for loading the configuration during the development of the UCD90xxx line of sequencers, the PMBus interface was meant to handle this function.

    It is available and works well for most customers but the JTAG specification is not an industry controlled standard, and is sometimes implemented slightly differently by each ICT manufacturer which can require some upfront effort to develop the correct SVF file.

    It can also be tempermental to implement, requiring clean signaling at the probe head because you are directly accessing the memory space without any protections against writing the wrong memory location.
