UCD9090 - sequence off not working

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UCD9090

Hello, I´m Jesus,

I need some help with UCD9090. I have a design with it and it is making me mad. I have tried all kind of things but there isn´t any way to turn off the rails. I need to turn off some rails depending on an input pin, but no matter what I tried rails never power off. Finally I decided to make a pretty simple proyect with just 2 rails. Rail 1 is a 12V ps and rail 2 a 5V ps. I tried to use pin 15 to control the off sequence of the 5V ps. But it doesn't work. Looking at the pin that controls the rail, it never moves, is always stacked high level.

I should be doing something wrong, but looks like that if I configured the on/off to auto enable, it works for power on, but it never responds to power off, even though I tried to switch off the 5V ps depending on the 12V rail, does not work either. But if I used the operation mode only power supplies can be switched on and off with fusion sw, so I´m sure is not a HW problem

  Attached is my simple project.

Thanks in advance

  • The rail's sequence on/off dependencies on GPI is NOT used to control rail on or off, it is used to prevent rail to be on/off if the dependencies on GPI are not met. To control rail on/off, use ON_OFF_CONFIG. If you want to use a pin to control rail's on/off, set ON_OFF_CONFIG to "CONTROL Pin only". For UCD9090 device, the PMBus CTRL pin is pin #20
