UCD90120A not detected with TI USB interface adapter

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UCD90120A

Hi,

I have designed two boards with UCD90120A (two of them in each board). On one board (Board #1) it works without any issues. However, in the second board (Board #2), Fusion digital power software is not able to find any UCD devices connected.

Differences between the two boards

1. In Board #2, some of the MON pins are floating

2. Supplies monitored/controlled are different

Please note that UCD Reset pin is asserted 'HIGH' always using an FPGA Output pin, and TRST is connected to ground with 10K resistor

Also I measure +1.8V at BPCAP bypass capacitor.

Please provide suggestions on debugging this issue

  • Hi Harisankar,

Please launch UCD3xxx & UCD9xxx Device GUI. Click on "Scan for Device in Program Mode: DEVICE ID" and see if the GUI can find the device. If not, please click on "Scan Device in ROM Mode" and see if the GUI can find the device. Let me know the result.

    Thanks,

    Zhiyuan
