UCD90160: power sequencing without UCD90160

Part Number: UCD90160
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS53319, TPS53355,

Hi,

For one of our modem design , we have multiple voltages to be sequenced for DSP, FPGA & power pc.

From 12v source , Buck converter TPS53319/TPS53355 will be used to generate lower core & peripheral voltages for DSP, FPGA and other devices.

We are planning to implement the Sequencing from external child card  FPGA.

Since the sequencer (eg.UCD90160) will not be used and the sequencing  will be done from ext.card ,

Is this correct if the Power GOOD out from the 1st device in the sequence can be fed as an Enable signal input to the next device and SO on in the sequence ?

plz suggest if there is any better  alternative to this approach ?

  • What're the reasons to not use UCD90160 for sequencing?

As for how to connect the EN signals of converter. it is up to how you want to achieve both power up and down sequencing, any extra delay, fault protection?

That's the reason why UCD90160 helps customer.

    Regards

    Yihe
