UCD90120: Clarification regarding UCD90120 implementation and usage

Part Number: UCD90120
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UCD90SEQ64EVM-650, ,

The Datasheet layout guidelines recommend V33A (pin 46) to be connected to V33D through a 4.99 ohm resistor.

Q: V33A on the UCD90SEQ64EVM-650 development board is connected to V33D through a 220 Ω ferrite bead, differing from the above. What should the correct implementation be, or what are the compromises of one approach over the other?

PMBus Address Bins (Table 8) are defined depending on a resistor value connected to an address pin.

Q: To confirm my understanding of the above, is Address Bin 5 defined by connecting a resistor value between 41.2 kΩ and 53.6 kΩ or  31.6 kΩ and 41.2 kΩ ?

  • Hi
UCD90120 is not recommend for new design. please use UCD90120A.
#1. please use 4.99. it provide better performance on the ADC accuracy.
    #2. for BIN5, pleas use 41.2K exclusively. For BIN4 use 31.6K
    thanks
