UCD9081: USB GPIO POwer sequncer not working

Part Number: UCD9081

I got the USB Interface adapter module and also downloaded the software for the same. I will be using that module to read out the power sequence.

The problem is that neither the software nor the hardware seems to be working. When I plug everything into the system I get the message

"UCD9081 Not Present" . I tried everything from unistalling the software and unplugging the hardware but none of them seem to be working.

The userguide doesnt seem to have instructions on how to use the SW gui. Urgent help is required. Thanks a lot.

  • UCD9081 supports up to 100KHz without PEC feature.

I believe that USB-GPIO dongle by default has 400KHz clock with PEC enable.

Please change the USB-GPIO dongle setting  on Figure 6-15 http://www.ti.com/lit/ug/slvub51/slvub51.pdf

But first please install TI Fusion Digital Power Designer.

  • Thanks much for the response. We could not get it working even after downloading the  Digital Power Designer.

Can you let me know if there is any local sales/tech support contact available. We are based in San Jose and dont mind

the local TI support come with their laptop to help us out. Thanks.

  • 1. After install the digital power designer GUI, have you changed the USB GPIO adapter setting to 100KHz and PEC disable. please make sure this. follow the instructions sent in the previous post.

    2. after change the adapter setting, close digital power designer GUI, lunch the UCD9081 GUI, it shall detect the 9081 EVM.

Please provide a snapshot of step.
