I would like to have the rise and fall transition rate specification clarified. This item is found in the recommended operating conditions section and is defined as a max of 100ns/V. Can you verify that this is means, in my own words, that the transition time from low to high must be faster than 100ns...

Q: TPS3820-33 source current by 788545 Hi, my customer is actually using TPS3820-33 to support a TMS470 uC. Due to sevaral reasons, they need to change to another derivative which has thus a higher internal pull down current of max. 185uA. Unfortunately, TPS3820-33 is not able to support such...

Q: TPS3820 watchdog question by 313626 Questions/Problem: When using the TPS3820, what happens if the WDI is active while on both transitions of the WDI input? Answer: The RESET is latched low until WDI stops transitioning.

The datasheet's timing diagram provides some of the data you need. It shows that you must toggle the WDI input continuously to keep the /RESET signal from going active. If the WDI signal is not toggled within tt(out), /RESET goes low. The tt(out) values for the different ICs are specified in the...

As long as you toggle the WDI low to high or high to low within the Ttout time specified in the datasheet, the TPS3820 will operate properly without generating an active low /RESET signal. If you wait longer than Ttout, the /RESET output will go low.

I assume you are asking about the wording in the Description paragraph on page two of the datasheet. This means that you can NOT apply a changing WDI signal to the TPS3820 if the IC is in reset. You must disconnect the WDI signal to the IC when /RESET is low. If you apply a changing WDI signal when ...

  • Forum Post: RE: TPS3820: Can the MR pin be connected to directly to VDD?

    Darwin Fernandez Darwin Fernandez
Hi Chris, The MR pin can be connected to VDD as long as the voltage on this pin does not exceed VDD+0.3V. The minimum voltage for a MR logic HIGH is 0.7*VDD. Regards, Darwin
