TPS386596 /MR pin connection

When the /MR pin is not in use, there is a internal pull up resistor to pull it to Vcc.
Is there any problem if we connect another external resistor and pull the MR pin to Vcc? My customer design require them to either pull up or pull down all unuse pin in their board.

The datasheet specifies an internal pullup resistor from /MR to VCC. You can connect an additional pullup resistor in parallel to this. The value can be anywhere between 0ohms and infinity ohms.
Your customer has good design practices to properly terminate all unused inputs to their ICs. This will save them many problems in the future. All designs should properly terminate unused inputs. They do not need a resistor from /MR to Vcc because the TPS386000 already provides this internally.
