TPS22976: Need Load Switch Reccomendation

Part Number: TPS22976
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS22968, , TPS22990

Hi,

We’re looking to add a new small load switch to our new product re-spin and are looking at either the TPS22976 or TPS22968. Both are very similar but neither of them specify the time required for the charge pump to initialize on power-up. Can you please see if TI can provided this added detail for each part? I also want to confirm that both are suitable for new designs and I should expect any issues in the next few years. If you know of a better choice for 1.0V capable load switch, we’re open to suggestions.

Thanks,

David

  • Hi David,

Can you please specify what you mean by "charge pump initialization"? The charge pump is not enabled until ON is pulled high, and we specify the amount of time it takes from the enable being pulled high to VOUT at 10% (delay time).

As far as recommendations go, what is the current load for the application? If it is a high current, 1V rail then the TPS22990 may be an interesting device due to its low on-resistance. If the current is below 3A, then the TPS22925C would save a lot of space and still provide the benefit of a low on-resistance.

    Thanks,
