I got the questions from my customer.

Could you tell me the followings questions?

1. In the Auto-Retry mode, does the dV/dt work?

What are the conditions to work the dV/dt except the start up?

2 .If the Tj is over the Tsd when I(CB) < ILOAD < IFASTRIP or the timer within tCB(dly), Does the thermal shut down work?

3. The output voltage droops during the current regulation in the active current limiting, what does the output voltage drop?

Hi Takahiko,

1. In Auto-Retry mode, dVdT works while re-starting during auto-retry after a fault or Thermal Shutdown. During startup dVdT is charged witht constant ramp rate. Other than startup, lets say if output is restarting after a fault, output is still always charged with dVdT ramp rate. Others can be a SHDNb recycling, UVLO or OVP event.

2. If Tj is over TSD, and I(CB) < ILOAD < IFASTRIP, device will enter thermal shutdown.

3. Output voltage droop depends on the load you are putting on the output. If it is Resistive load, Output voltage will settle at I_Limit*R. But for active load it is little tricky. Let me know if you are using an active load.

Which are the stress big either Active current limiting or Electronic Circuit Breaker for this device?

Hi Yokota,

Cout depends on the application.
But TPS2660 works from 0.1uF to 10mF of output capacitor.

What is the application the TPS2660 will be used for?
Can you share the schematic through email "karikalan@ti.com"?
