TPS2660: switch in parallel for reduced Ron and current limit

Hello,

I wanted to ask if it would be possible to use two of the TPS2660 power switches in parallel to reduce the overall Ron and increase the current limit cut off to something closer to 4A. In this case we would connect both switches with the exact same settings (dV/dt, Ilim, etc).

This PPT will be very helpful.

I noticed that the datasheet requires the RTN and GND of the IC to be separated from each other in order to enable the reverse voltage protection. I will be using the shutoff pin and the controller that is driving the shutoff of the TPS2660 references the GND. Will there be an issue with a controller that drives the shutoff pin that is referencing GND and not "RTN".

Hi Leoj,

Driving SHDNb pin with reference to GND will not be a problem duirng reverse input polarity condition and normal operation as well.

However, if you are using FLTb (and IMON if used) with reference to GND, then use a 100k resistor in series from FLTB (and IMON if used) to MCU or other devices.
