LM74700-Q1: Difference from lm74610-q1

Part Number: LM74700-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM74610-Q1,

Hi All,

My customer want to know difference from lm747610-q1's Chargepump.

lm74700-q1 will be on full, but lm74610-q1 will turn on 98%.

Best Regards,
Koji Hayashi

  • Hello Koji,

Basic operational difference is that LM74610-Q1 does not have a GND pin (ideal diode) and LM74700-Q1 has GND pin.

LM74610-Q1 charge pump operates from the 0.5V drop across the external FET's Body Diode.

When the FET is OFF, charge pump capacitor is charged. When charge pump capacitor is fully charged, External MOSFET is tuned on.

Slowly charge pump capacitor discharged (due to internal biasing). As the Charge pump capacitor loses charge, FET is turned off.

Again the Charge pump capacitor starts to charge from external FET's Body diode. And this process repeats.

This results is ON/OFF operation with 98% duty cycle.

LM74700-Q1 is always ON because charge pump operates with respect to GND pin. (LM74610-Q1 has no reference GND).

So there is no ON/OFF behavior of the external FET during normal conditons.

Please let me know if this helps to answer your question.

    Regards,

    Kari.

  • Hi Kari-san

    Thank you for quickresponse.

Since LM74610-Q1 has no GND, I understood that Chargepump's operation start is different.
I will explain to the customer, but will reply if there are additional questions.

    Best Regards,
