TPS2660: Adjust TPS26602 clamp value

Part Number: TPS2660
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TLV431

Hello,

I have found a previous answer on the forum that explains you can adjust fixed clamping voltage of TPS26602.

Connecting 260k resistor from dVdT pin to RTN pin changes clamp voltage to 30V wtih 20% variation over temperature.

It also mentions a different method that has better accuracy over temperature,  can you provide me that information?

best regards,

Tom

  • Hi Tom,

This method involves driving/controlling the dVdT pin with external discrete circuit.
We have not yet verified this solution, so could you tell by when you are expecting this?

    Regards,
    Kari.
  • Hi Kari,

We are currently evaluating the TPS26600 EVM and need to evaluate final solution end-june.

Could you provide a bit more information about the resistor DvDT method and the accuracy?

Previous post mentions 20% variations over temperature, is this over +-10% or +- 20%?

Where does this variation originate from? I don't think we need alot more accuracy.

We want a min/max clamping voltage of 31/35V respectively (33V typical). Is this possible in Ambient the temperature range of 0-70degC?

    best regards,

    Tom

  • Hello,

    Any update regarding previous question?

    best regards,

  • Hello Tom,

Here is the circuit for the adjustable high precision OVC with TPS26600. It requires TLV431 for the output voltage feedback sensing. The output of the TLV431 connects to dvdt pin of TPS26600.

    Regards,

    Dilip
