TPS25910: About TPS25910 current limit, using electronic load in CC mode

Part Number: TPS25910
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS2590

To avoid the start up current limit, im using a Mosfet after the output of the TPS2590 to switch on loads. When using a electronic load in constant resistance mode, this works fine. I can switch on 5A without problem. However, if i use the constant current mode, the TPS2590 switch off. Any idea what the issue could be?

  • Hi Luxwolda,

Please use e-Load in CR mode. When the eFuse device reaches current limit, the device acts as a current source. If an electronic load is used for testing in CC mode, which turns out to be placing two current sources in series in the network. This pulls down the output voltage and the system behavior depends on the type of electronic load and varies from make to make.

    Best Regards,
