TPS4H160-Q1: Current Limit and Current Sense: per channel or overall?

Part Number: TPS4H160-Q1

Dear Sir or Madam,

I'm not sure about dimensioning current limit and current sense. Are these values defined per channel or is it an overall (for all 4 channels) definition? As I understand the datasheet, I can define current sense per channel and current limit for all 4 channels together. Is that correct?

Thanks a lot!

Best regards,

André

  • Hello Andre,

The current limit and current sense are set for all channels. You dimension for one channel and the rest of channels have the same current limit and current sense set.

Current limit set IOUT = Kcl x Vcl/Rcl is valid for each channel. For example you calculate the current limit resistor for setting the typical current limit to 1A. Each channel has the same typical current limit of 1A.

The same thing is valid for current sense.
