My customer was looking at the LM5050-1 as an alternative option to the LM74700. The customer is looking for reverse polarity protection on a 60A circuit. Is there any benefit of using either the LM5050-1 or LM74700 for this application? AEC-Q100 qualification is not required for the application.
This is for a 12 channel half bridge driver card for use in RVs with a 12V battery system. Want to use an ideal diode for reverse polarity protection, so it needs to handle typical reverse voltages up to 16V with potentially higher transients. The applied polarity is either going to be forward or reversed, there will not be any rapid polarity reversals, so I don’t think the reverse blocking response speed is important.
