Hi, I am using TPS79633 as a voltage regulator for my design. Let's say the circuit is operating at a condition where load current is 1A. Now operating condition is changed and the circuit requires a load current 1.2A. I assume it take a finite amount of time (t1) for the regulator to adjust the...

I'm using a TPS72515 to drop voltage from PCI 3.3V down to 1.5V @ ~500mA. We have built thousand of these boards, but are seeing some of them back from the field with the TPS72515 only delivering 1.2V ! Could you help me to track down this issue ? Thanks for your time.

  • Forum Post: REG104-A Current limit

    Timothy Friend Timothy Friend
I am using the REG104-A to power a small incandescent lamp (2.9V @ 700mA). Because a cold lamp filament presents a very low resistance, the current surge as the lamp turns on can be rather high. The REG104 will current limit this to1.7A (typical), which is actually desirable, but I noticed that as the...

Hello Argail, I am not familiar with the operating environment for this motor. Several of TI's parts might serve well in this application depending on the severity of the environment: the TPS71727 might serve as alternative. The higher the PSRR, for instance the better the LDO can respond to load...

I am curious about the REG103UA-A and its ERROR Flag pin. The datasheet states that it falls low when the expected output voltage is "approximately" 10% (above or below) out of tolerance. However, the datasheet does not state any electrical specifications on this tolerance, given input voltage...

  • Forum Post: Re: Can I use TPS51116 V5IN in voltage divide resistor input?

    Peter Miller13277 Peter Miller13277
Harry, I would not recommend this. The TPS51116 controller uses the V5IN input for 2 functions: 1) Power the internal IC functions. This can draw upto 2mA of current 2) Provide 5V power for the IC MOSFETs. This will draw approximately 400kHz * ( Qg(hs) + Qg(ls) ) where Qg(hs) is the total...

Kimberly, What you're seeing here is the TPS40200's current limit response. When the TPS40200 controller detects a current limit event, the converter is disabled, the soft-start capacitor is discharged slowly to 150mV, then the converter is enabled and the soft-start capacitor is charged...
