Hi,

Can i connect the output of BQ51013EVM-725 directly to a 3.6V rechargable battery ( 3 x AA Ni-MH/ 3.6V Li-Ion) for charging and power up some electronic circuit at the same time?

Thanks

    Hi,

No, you can not use it directly as battery charger; you need to consider using one of these chargers as well.

Or please use our search tool on.

    Hello,

Related with the previous answer I would like you to clarify something: can I connect the bq51013 output directly to a USB connector and start charging USB devices through it? or do I also need to use a battery charger IC?

As far as I know, shorting the data pins from the USB connector should make it work as an off-the-wall power connection.

    Thanks in advance,

    Benjamin

    Hi,

This can be used as 5V power supply. in your case, that is all depends on the USB device requirement such current limit. Please read the datasheet for this device and see if that meets your USB device requirements

I was planning to use it as a generic USB charging port in the prototype I am working with.

So I guess you would recommend to include a power charger IC. Could you please recommend the more suited for this type of application among all the TI portfolio?

    Thank you very much.
