BQ51051BR QFN Package - Thermal PAD connection

Hi All,

Finalising a design with the BQ51051BR (QFN) Package, and I looked through the posts and datasheets but cannot find what is the desired electrical connection for the thermal pad. Should this be left floating or is it supposed to connect to GND.

If anyone has used this package and can provide the information I'd be very grateful, also - if the information is in the datasheet or an app note, please direct me to it.

    Hi Rob ,

    I believe the thermal  pad is connected to the ground to increase the area of heat dissipation ,and it helps a lot.

    I have done this with the BQ51050B and have not seen heat problems on the receiver so far.

    I am sure it is there somewhere in the app notes but i didnt have time to go back and look into it.
