bq500212 PWM frequency

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ500212A

How PWM frequency in bq500212A EVM is calculated ? i am getting 90KHz at coil terminals but it is not communicating with Reciever.

Thanks

Regards, Mahesh

  • PWM is not used the duty cycle is 50%.  The bq500212A will vary its operating freq from 110kHz to 205kHz to change operating point and output power. High freq = low output power and Low freq = High output power.  If you are seeing 90kHz something is very wrong.

Take a look at the digital drive signals at pin 12 and 13.  During digital ping the freq will be 174kHz.

  • Hello,Would the PWM set the freq automatic? Could you explaince for it?Jone
  • Yes operating freq is set automatically ---- the TX will set operating freq to meet the RX requirements. The RX will communicate with the TX using communications packets.
