BQ51025 - 10V 1A Output with a 2S charging systyem with no DPM input

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ500215, BQ51025

As we have planned to do such a receiver, we have used to design exemple of DS ...

Our Charger is planned to charger @780mA 8.4V.

However, during BQ500215 / BQ51025 Dialog, il looks like the DC out fall down a little too much (down to 8.62V) so that our charger can't be at constant current charge and sometime Just don't charge

First ScopeScreen is the output of BQ51025 on a pure 10 Ohms resistor

Yellow : Output

Second ScopeScreen is the the output with charger running

Yellow  : Output

I've got 2 questions according to that :

- Is there a way to restrict Dialog timing

- Do you have a Clue/hint to limit the swing voltage during dialog in order not to drop down to 9V.

Regards

  • Hi,Did you can solve this problem ?

I am also facing the same problem .

Please, do something hint for me.

    Best regards.

  • The pulses on the output are definitely the communication signals.  The signal depth is dependent on the coupling between the systems (RX and TX coils).  As you change the coupling (X, Y and Z distances) you may see the pulse depth change.  Changing the capacitance on the AC1 pin will have an impact as well.

Added capacitance at the OUT pin of the bq51025 and at the input pin of the charger may improve your results.

Alternatively, increasing the VOUT may keep the communication pulses from interfering with the charger.
