BQ51003 using TIDA 00329 solution

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ24232, BQ51003, BQ25100, TIDA-00318

Hello,

I am working on a receiver design for wireless power using the BQ51003 and battery charging using BQ24232. I originally wanted to use the TIDA 00329 solution, but need my solution to be qi compatible. What is the next suggest smallest solution for BQ51003 that is qi compatible? I am designing for small wearables and need the receiver as small as possible.

Thank you!

Madeleine

  • Madeleine,

Please look at the TIDA-00318.  That reference design uses a bq51003 wireless receiver and a bq25100 charger.  It is Qi-compatible so you should be able to use it as is if the 250mA max from the bq25100 is enough and the DSBGA is okay.

The TIDA-00329 will work with most Qi-certified transmitters.  The removal of the AC1/AC2 capacitors makes it unable to be certified.  Adding the series capacitors to the AC1 pin and the AC1 to AC2 capacitors is all that is needed to make the TIDA-00329 Qi-compatible.

    Regards,
