BQ51003: What's the recommend coil inductor parameter(L,Q,ACR,DCR etc) correponding to RX-bq51003

Part Number: BQ51003
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TIDA-00318

Dears,

I don't found the recommend L/Q/DCR/ACR range of the RX coil in bq51003 datasheet or EVM datasheet.  could you please share the information here?

  • If I don't like to re-tune resonance capacitor, so shall I must abide by the inductor L value same as EVM ?
  • Take a look at TIDA-00318 TI Reference design it has a small RX coil that is a good starting point for a 20mm design. A large coil could use the standard EVM coil.
As the coil decreases in size the coupling factor decreases, to offset this the RX coil L will need to increase.
  • As TIDA-00318 guide : "The round coil has a higher efficiency overall than the oval coil due to better coupling with either type of TX coil."

is it just point to the special match case? such as the plot in guide file : round TX + round RX is better than round TX + oval RX.

Because my product shape is oval. so I plan to use oval shape coill, thus the coil size will be larger than round shape.

Is the efficiency will be better than smaller round TX coil + round RX coil ?
