BQ500212A: Problems with I²C communication for debugging

Part Number: BQ500212A

Hi,

I want to use I²C monitoring for debugging the BQ500212A. To get the communication I'm using a controller-evalboard as I²C-master and I'm logging the communication with "Logic Analyzer". In Hardware I connect pin 10 (SCL), pin 11 (SDA) and GND of BQ500212A with the evalboard-I²C. On pin 10 an pin 11 I connect pullups with a value of 4k7 to VDD. In the application report "bq500212A Wireless Power Transmitter I2C Interface" I read that slave-address is "0x14" ("0x28W" "0x29R"). I tested I²C frequencies of 25 kHz, 100 kHz and 400 kHz. I checked the voltage levels with oscilloscope and made sure that BQ500121A is in run-mode. But I had no success.

Can you please tell me the issue? Or is it a general problem?

Best regards,

M. Sekler

  • Hi Fabian Koppling

I hope you have received the additional info that I sent regarding tools to be used to compare the performance of you system.

It is not clear what is causing the above problem.  Below is a scope shot of an EVM operating.
