BQ51050B: Switching Frequency/FCC Certification

Hi All,

I currently working on a device that uses the BQ51050B as a wireless charger. I understand that the device meets the Qi charger standard uses a switching frequency between 110kHz and 205 kHz.

In order to meet FCC regulations in the United States a wireless charger device can't emit frequencies between 90kHz and 100kHz.

Can this device be used for wireless charging in the United States without defying these regulations? Or is the switching frequency determined purely by the charger?

Hi Andrew
The frequencies is determined by the transmitter not receiver. In the WPC standard some of the transmitters are fixed freq topologies. Most of the TI transmitter designs use an A11 type that will vary operating freq from 110kHz to 205kHz.
But the receiver must operate will all WPC certified designs and the bq51050B will.
