BQ51021: writing proprietary data

Part Number: BQ51021
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ500212A, , BQ51013B

Hi,

My project is ta making a wireless charger for implantable devices.  previously I used bq51013b as the wireless power receiver and it worked properly. Now what i want is sending data to the  Tx side such as State of charge of the cell, charging voltage. For that I'm trying to write that data to proprietary data register of the bq51021 through I2C. And for the TX side i use bq500212a. the problem i got is, any settings should have to  change in bq51021 before i communicate in I2C? Will it work if i try it on normal procedure, like calling the slave address then the register address and writing data to the register.

kasun.

  • Hi Kasun
Thanks for your interest in TI products but I must stress:
Designer may not use any TI products in life-critical medical equipment unless authorized officers of the parties have executed a special contract specifically governing such use. Life-critical medical equipment is medical equipment where failure of such equipment would cause serious bodily injury or death (e.g., life support, pacemakers, defibrillators, heart pumps, neurostimulators, and implantables). Such equipment includes, without limitation, all medical devices identified by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration as Class III devices and equivalent classifications outside the U.S.
