Linux: Application development for Debian

My idea is to use a cross development environment to develop my application and TI Processor SDK Linux + Code Composer Studio seems a simple starting point. But I am not sure that it is a valid solution.

In my opinion, for development of my application, it is not a good solution to use directly the Debian OS environment on Beaglebone Black.
And unfortunately I didn't find an equivalent solution (ready to use) on Beagleboard site, directly for Debian OS.

And, of course, I have not enough experience on "Linux world" to understand if TI Processor SDK Linux + Code Composer Studio could be a valid solution (i.e.: use it just as a cross development environment).

And, does Code Composer Studio includes all I need (i.e.: toolchain, library, ...)?
Or I need to add somethings else?
Just to give you an idea, my application basically needs to use Beaglebobe Black GPIO, ADC, Serial interface. And also TCP/IP and Linux Threads.
