Part Number: AM5718

Hello Sitara Team,

With regards to appnote SPRABY0, "DRA7xx, AM57xx, TDA2x, TDA3x Spread Spectrum Clocking Configuration"

http://www.ti.com/lit/an/spraby0a/spraby0a.pdf

1) In the abstract, it states that "The spreadsheet discussed in this application report is available upon request."  How can I obtain this spreadsheet.

2) Can you confirm that the spread spectrum clocking applies to the AM5718 on the VOUT1 port of the display subsystem?

3) Is there any configuration code/driver available for Linux that supports this?

Thanks and Regards,

David

  • Hi David,

    David M. Alter
    1) In the abstract, it states that "The spreadsheet discussed in this application report is available upon request."  How can I obtain this spreadsheet.

The excel spreadsheet is available to download from CCDS:

SPRABY0.zip - Zip file contains the PDF for the App Note and the Excel file to get the desired configuration.

Let me check you other questions and come back to you shortly.

    Regards,
    Pavel

    David,

I have found that SSC is not supported for AM571x VOUT1/DPLL_VIDEO1 at DSS, check TRM Table 11-38. PLL_STATUS:

Note: SSC feature is not supported.

    Check also below e2e threads:

    e2e.ti.com/.../650394
    e2e.ti.com/.../684883

Thank you Pavel for your quick and useful response. I am curious though, between the various TRMs I just checked and the e2e threads you cited, the SSC feature doesn't seem to be supported on any of the devices in the title of the appnote: DRA7xx, AM57xx, TDA2x, TDA3x.

What device exactly is this feature supported on?

    Regards,
    David
