Hello,

I'm looking for a DTS chip from a Onkyo network receiver (TX-8050), D830K013BZKB4.

I found a note from TI which recommends the B revision to be replaced with D revision, D830K013DZKB4. But none of them seem to be available.

Can you please help me find this chip or propose a suitable replacement for it?

TMS320C6747DZKB4 is an equivalent chip and it will work in this receiver?

If it's not posted in the right forum, please move it accordingly.

Thank you!

  • This is the correct forum for the processor. This referenced device is custom and requires a license relationship with Dolby and DTS to use. TI only sells this device to authorized customers. You need to get in touch with local TI contact so we can confirm the DTS licensing before providing you access to DA830 resources.

The part is still in production. the move from B to D devices is only a silicon revision change.

    Regards,
    Rahul

    Thank you for your answer!

Regarding the second question, will TMS320C6747DZKB4 be a direct replacement for this?

  • In reply to Dumitru Fotache:

TMS320C6747DZKB4 part contains the same DSP and peripheral and is pin compatible device to DA830 part but C6747 is not audio qualified and doesn`t contain DTS IP custom setup so it can`t be used as an alternative to DA830 especially when licensed IP is concerned.

    Rahul

  • In reply to Rahul Prabhu:

When you say DTS IP, you mean Intellectual Property?

  • In reply to Dumitru Fotache:

    Dumitru,

Yes, DTS IP is their licensed Intellectual property that is pre-programmed into our device with built in protection mechanism to prevent unauthorized access to this code. Our software delivery mechanism for these devices ensures that only authorized users who have purchased these parts after confirmation of their licensing can access this code.

I can`t provide any further detail on these devices on public forums so please contact the local TI contact and verify your licensing to get access to more details on this premium audio IP engagement model.

    Regards,
    Rahul
