Linux/TDA2PXEVM: which tool can be used to observe the memory bandwidth usage

Hi,

I wonder which tool can be used to measure the memory bandwidth usage on TDA2x platform. Besides the usage in total, it's preferable to know how every processor(GPU,CPU,DSP, EVE etc.) contributes to the consumption. Thanks!

Hi Simon,

You can know the statistics using "p" option from UART Console with Vision SDK software.

I need system wide usage information instead of things embedded in some specific application，so please help indicate the dedicated bandwidth monitor tool.

Hi Rishabh,
glsdkstatcoll is available for dra7xx Linux Automotive sdk, but not for tda2x vision sdk.
Is the tool also applicable for vision sdk? Thanks!

Using CSS and Jtag to collect such generic information is rather inconvenient, right?

Hi,

My first reply was to use print statistics information from TDA2x Vision SDK.
Can you go through the API implementation for the same and see if it suits your requirement.

Thanks for you nice support. I get it. I am trying to enable glsdkstatcoll (copied from dra7xx Linux Automotive sdk) for vision sdk. It seems working. I want to know more detail about the tool, can you kindly indicate some reference. Thanks!

Hi Simon,

The source code for tool is here: git.ti.com/.../bandwidth-tool
Vision SDK default configuration already enables a BIOS Task that is also reading the statistics block of the SoC. Make sure that you disable that before using the glsdkstatcoll, otherwise the results from both will be wrong.

Thanks for your reminder, can you say more about how to disable the BIOS task that is also reading the statistics block of the SoC, is there a patch for that BTW, finally I produce the statcollector.csv file using glsdkstatcoll per the thread https://e2e.ti.com/support/processors/f/791/t/651722.

Hi Simon,

We don't have any patch for disabling stats collector in Vision SDK.
All links use stats collector so you have to disable it from all the links that are required by your use case and also the main task for stats collector.
