RTOS/TMDSICE3359: HSR/PRP debug error

Hello,

I've the TMDSICE3359 and I want to implement HSR protocol on it.

To do that, I've download :

- PRU ICSS SW for HSR/PRP v01.00.04.02

- Processor SDK TI RTOS v4.03.00.05

- CCS 7.4.0.00015

I have also target my board and import the HSR project (that I've find in the PRU ICSS SW for HSR/PRP).

But after running that the project stop and it is written "Suspend - SW breakpoint" like you can see in the PDF.

Can you please explain me what I 've to do now to implement the hsr_app provides in the PRU ICSS SW for HSR/PRP? thanks for your helpSuspend SW breakpoint.pdf

Hi,

When I run my app after this breakpoint, I 've now the problem : "CortxA8: Unhandled ADP_Stopped exception 0x20023" write in the console.

Moreover, it is written that there is "No source available for "do_AngelSWI(int, void *) [C:/ti\PRU-ICSS-HSR-PRP-DAN_01.00.04.02\protocols\hsr_prp\projects\hsr_app_AM335x_arm\AM335x_release\hsr_app_AM335x_arm.out] at 0x80057854"

I don't understand the error that I have. Can you please help and explain me please.

Hi Florian, CCS stops at "main", for debugging purpose. so you can add breakpoints, step into the code, check registers etc.

Florian, with respect to "Unhandled ADP_Stopped exception 0x2002" did you applied PDK patches? as mentioned in:

Also did you did any modification to HSR/PRP code?

For your information, Unhandled ADP_Stopped exception 0x20023, could happen due to different reasons. Most exception causes fall into the following three categories.

Stack overflow or corruption leads to arbitrary code execution.
- Almost any exception is possible.
A NULL pointer has been dereferenced and written to.
- Typically (IM)PRECISERR exceptions
A peripheral module (like UART, Timer, and so forth) is accessed without being powered.
- Typically (IM)PRECISERR exception

One way to debug this exception is to backtrace the call stack (in the debug window). You can update, inside Registers view, PC (Program Counter) and LR (Link Register) values reported by the exception. After writting PC and LR values in the register view you will see "Debug" view showing the functions call stack when the exception happens.

In summary, there is not that obvious why this type of exceptions happens. In my case, in some past experiences, this type of exceptions had happened to my projects when stack size is to small.
