ADS58J63: Power Supply Noise Requirements

Part Number: ADS58J63

Hi,

I am designing a board having many ADS58J63 in a single board. Please let me know what is the requirements with respect to power supply like maximum ripple etc to achieve best possible performance out of the ADC.

Regards,

Kiran

I do not have any specific data on the 'J63 related to power supply requirements. I do have some general recommendations. The 'J63 uses LDOs to power the respective rails. This is the conservative, high performance approach. It may also be possible to use DC-DC converters directly with some design considerations to isolate the supplies and to filter out the switching supply spurs.

In either case I recommend the use of the ferrite bead filter that we use on the EVM (Murata NFM31PC276B0J3). This device provides supply isolation and filtering with a notch around 2 MHz where many of the DC-DC switching spurs reside.

You may reference app note: www.ti.com/.../slaa461. This app note discusses power supply considerations with the ADS41xx ADC. Though it is a different ADC than you are targeting, the concepts will apply.
