AFE7686: AFE7686 direct connection to 66AK2K2L device

Can I interface the AFE7686 directly to the 66AK2K2L chip using just 2 JESD204 lanes for xmit and rcv?  Also, can I operate the AFE7686 ADC in the second nyquist zone (subsampling 1.5-3GHz)?

    Can you provide information on the bandwidths you like to support on the xmit and rcv?
    Yes, 2nd Nyquist operation for the receiver is possible.

    This should be possible for 1T1R configuration with a data rate of 245.76MHz for both TX and RX and JESD mode of L-M-F-S-Hd=2-2-2-1-0.
    Because this device is 4T4R, can you also consider using discrete devices like DAC38RF8x and ADC32RF45?

    Yes I can but I have space an power constraints.  My thought was the AFExxxx front end chips would reduce the amount of PCB area needed.  What is the advantage of going with discrete devices?

    Hi DocT,

    You are right about the savings in area.
    My only concern with the AFExxx for 1T1R application was that you will not be utilizing all the DAC and ADC cores available in the device and so it may not be the most efficient solution.
