Looking for Wireless Mesh technology solution which can work in Industrial Noisy environment

Hi Ti,

We are evaluating different wireless technologies (which support Mesh network) and different manufacturer for same.

Our application is low power so want to develop solution with SoC instead of using ready module.

Solution will deploy in floor area of industries so noisy environment, Range is not that much matter (20-50 meter will be fine in PoC, we can tune Antenna for further).

To narrow down my search result, I would like to directly ask that does TI has relevant solution for that? please suggest SoC for that, Also It should be licence free band. Also advise its EVM if available.

Thanks in advance for your support.

  • Bhavdipsinh,

We have a number of different mesh options. I will list them here and you will have to decide on which one fits your application the best.

    1) Zigbee Mesh, we have a Zigbee Compliant solution in the market today, here is a link to the development kit and software.

    2) Thread Mesh, we have a Thread Compliant solution in the market today, here is a link to the development kit and software.

    For Sub1Ghz we have

    3) Open source Contiki, tools and software here:

    4) WiSun derived Mesh solution, hard and software here:

    I hope this helps,

  • Hi

Thanks for your detailed reply. Its very informative to explore and choose one.

Again, As I told that I am looking for solution which can work in industrial noisy environment (At assembling line, floor noise and other EMI/EMC signals. (It could be go upto 90db level).

So do you any case study for any suggested option which match required solution requirement or information which help to fulfill the requirement.

    Thanks in advance.

  • BR,

Our device have very good interference coexistence capabilities. You will need to review the datasheets to determine if they can perform well in your specific environment. In cases like what you are describing, I would recommend adding a bandpass filter (SAW, BAW or Ceramic type) filter between the antenna and the SoC to protect it from high signals out of band.
