Low frequency SMT IQ mixer

Dear E2E expert,

Would you have in your portfolio an IQ mixer in SMT covering the following specs?

- RF, LO: 200-1500 MHz

- IF: BB from hundreds of kHz to higher hundreds of MHz

    If by an IQ mixer you mean a quadrature modulator then yes, TI has a good portfolio of devices.  Check out TRF370317, TRF370417, or TRF3705.  BB frequency supports DC to 1 GHz.  RF output frequency covers as much as 50 MHz to 6 GHz.  Those modulators also have flavors with integrated LO.  Check out the TRF3722 for that option.

    Thank you for your answer. Would you have a simple quadrature down-converter/demodulator, purely analog, converting my RF signal (200-1250MHz) to IF/BB (hundreds of kHz to MHz) with a LO covering 200-1250MHz instead? Something like TRF370317 but down-converting would be perfect.

    TI does have an integrated quadrature demodulator that includes BB amps, gain control, and programmable filter.  The RF BW can support down to 200 MHz.  The BB bandwidth supports DC up to 15 MHz, limited by the programmable LPF.  This translates to a 30 MHz wide RF bandwidth.  Check out the TRF3711 device datasheet for more of the details.

    I already know your TRF3711 series but as far as I understand, they are using digital signals to operate. I am looking for a purely analog down-converter. That is why I was interested in your TRF370317 but as a down-converter.

    Would it then be possible to use TRF371109 but grounding all the digital inputs/outputs? How are the filters and amplifiers behaving when they are not controlled?

    If you are looking for a device that does not require any SPI programming then the TRF3711 will likely not suffice.  Some basic SPI programming is need to set programable filter bandwidth (unless the default happens to be OK) and to engage the DC Offset control (unless this feature is not desired).

    Otherwise, TI does not have a simple demodulator.
